Activity

Shanghai Business School Lecture & Workshop

From November 20th to 22nd, 2017, as part of the overseas university academic exchange activities sponsored by the Shanghai International Print Exhibition, he was invited to the Shanghai Business School to give lectures and workshops.

The purpose of the workshop is to understand the basic printmaking techniques and to enjoy their charms. In order of drypoint, colography, and gypsum printing, one original plate is modified and printed for each technique.

First, a needle is drawn on the PVC plate, and then the intaglio is printed on paper. Next, thin objects such as dead leaves and threads are pasted on the vinyl chloride plate with an adhesive, and printed on paper as an intaglio or uneven plate. Finally, the liquid gypsum filled with ink is poured into the stencil to create a gypsum print and color it.

Through these continuous processes, you will acquire basic knowledge such as the powerful and free lines created by drypoint, the differences in expressive effects due to differences in printing formats, the diversity of printing plates using materials that are not normally used, and the fun of printmaking techniques. . About 20 students.

National Taiwan University of Arts Lecture & Workshop

From July 5th to 10th, 2010, he was invited by the university to give a lecture on "Overview of Printmaking and Introduction to Techniques" and a workshop on "Color Copperplate Engraving" at the University's Printmaking Center.

The workshop is based on the theme of "destruction and regeneration" of images, and creates a collage of various printed materials, copies them on OH film, and then draws on them with different materials to create two block copy films. Emulsion-coated plates are exposed to light to erode the underlying film. After making the plates, by printing with different combinations of the two original plates and colored inks, the original image can be transformed or a new image evoked. About 50 students.
